An AC Miniature Circuit Breaker (AC MCB) is an automatically operated electrical safety switch specifically designed to protect electrical circuits that use Alternating Current (AC) from damage caused by overcurrent (overload and short circuit). It is the standard protection device used in residential, commercial, and most industrial electrical systems fed by the main power grid. The primary mechanism of an AC MCB uses both a bimetallic strip (thermal) for overload protection and an electromagnetic coil for short circuit protection.
